Despite the usual daily office routine, once in a while I have something to show for it. Here is a short article I was asked to write regarding President Uchtdorf's visit to the Czech Republic. This article was posted on the UK Newsroom of the Church. Other posted articles were about

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf presides at the creation of the first stake in the Czech Republic
On May 15, 2016, a day revered by European Christians as Pentecost Sunday, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, a member of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, returned to the country of his birth and presided over the creation of the first stake (a large geographical unit) in the Czech Republic. Hundreds of Latter-day Saints gathered at the Žofin Palace in Prague for a special worship service and sustained Martin Pilka
as the first president of the Prague Stake.
Missionaries began teaching the gospel there in 1929. Fortified by their strong faith throughout turbulent years, members of the Church in the Czech Republic now number over 2500.
President Uchtdorf said for him to be present at the creation of this stake was truly a special blessing. He hoped all members would likewise cherish this historic moment. He promised the members that blessings would come by living the gospel, being examples of kindness, and reaching out to others.
It's a great article write-up - thanks for sharing!
